Ramsey Crookall was proud to be the principal sponsor of the inaugural Isle of Man Backyard Ultra, held at Archallagan Plantation on 2nd and 3rd October.

As we celebrate our 80th year in business, supporting events that bring the Island's community together remains an important part of who we are.

Despite torrential rain, strong winds and challenging conditions, 132 runners took on the ultimate test of endurance, completing a 4.167-mile loop every hour, with the last person standing crowned the winner.

A huge congratulations to Dan Richmond, who made history as the Island's first Backyard Ultra champion, completing an extraordinary 31 yards and 129.2 miles. Congratulations also to David Williams, who completed 30 yards, and Joanne Howse, who established the inaugural women's record with an impressive 25 yards and 104.2 miles.

With 11 runners reaching the remarkable 100-mile milestone, the weekend was filled with personal achievements, determination and an incredible sense of camaraderie.

Our sincere thanks go to the organisers, along with the dedicated volunteers, marshals, and support crews, who made this historic first event possible.
